The Domestic Violence Shelter is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a grant from The Richland County Foundation. This grant will fund clothing for sexual assault survivors who receive services at local emergency rooms.
The Richland County Foundation has generously awarded a grant to The Domestic Violence Shelter to fund the provision of clothing to survivors of sexual assault who undergo Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) exams at local hospitals. This grant will have a profound impact on the lives of survivors, ensuring they have access to the resources they need during a vulnerable time. SANE exams are a critical component of the care and support provided to survivors of sexual assault. These exams are conducted by specially trained nurses who collect evidence, provide medical care, and offer compassionate support to survivors. The Domestic Violence Shelter provides 24/7 SANE Advocacy. Every survivor is supported by a trained advocate who provides safety plans, resources and advocacy. As part of evidence collection, a survivor's clothing are typically collected for evidence. This grant will enable The Domestic Violence Shelter to offer comfortable clothing to survivors undergoing SANE exams, ensuring their dignity, comfort, and emotional well-being are prioritized during a difficult time The Domestic Violence Shelter is a leading organization in our community, providing comprehensive services for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. With this grant, they will be better equipped to offer holistic support to survivors who come to local emergency rooms for SANE exams. The grant will make a significant impact on the lives of these survivors and help them on their journey to healing and recovery. October 23th, 2023 (Mansfield, OH) – iHeartMedia Ashland/Mansfield radio stations (WNCO-FM, WXXF-FM, WMAN-AM, WYHT-FM, WFXN-FM, WNCO-AM and WSWR-FM) in partnership with Mechanics Bank, are proud to sponsor a campaign that was created by the late Sam Ramirez, to help provide the children of our community with toys for Christmas. From November 1st through the 30th listeners will be asked to donate new/gently used toys and monetary donations at all 9 Richland County Mechanics Bank locations. I remember the hundreds of thoughts going through my mind how could he do that, why did he do that, but I remember just sitting there in complete shock.
