In 2022, The Domestic Violence Shelter provided services and support to over 200 people. Many people who seek assistance from our agency are in need of basic day to day necessities such as food, clothing, hygiene products and household essentials. The Shelter knows that it's not enough just to provide a safe space to stay- we also want survivors and their children to have the security of knowing all their needs will be met.
How to Help
There are multiple ways for our community to support the survivors who work with our agency. Financial contributions can support the services we provide to survivors and their children every day. Donation of items help ensure we can provide all the essential items needed for day to day living. Volunteering your time supports our agency in the work we offer our community.
Financial donations can help support ongoing programs and services, fulfill essential needs and support the survivors working with our programs. You can make a one time donation or set up a reoccurring donation through our secure Bloomerang Link. You can also offer your financial support by attending our fundraising events throughout the year.
Many survivors arrive at our shelter with just the clothes on their back. We provide everything that survivors and their children need while staying at our shelter. This includes food, clothing, hygiene products, toiletries, cleaning products, toys, school supplies and more. The Shelter has a Target Registry of our most needed items. You can purchase your donation from the website and the items will be sent directly to The Shelter. We also have an Amazon Wishlist that features the items we use on a daily basis.
When deciding what to donate, think about the things that you or your children use every day. Think about the things that are an absolute necessity for you- and think about things that you would want to have in a stressful time in your life. We are always accepting donations of food, hygiene products, toiletries, and gently used clothing, but there are some items that are essential to our shelter.
Some of our most needed items include:
